TOP With Vista
If someone goes to the top folder and opens top_d then it should work like normal, and the person can make a shortcut.

delete the short cut
and go into the Tales of pirates folder
c/ program files/ talesof pirates
drag top_d
an aplication called top_d appears
then drag it onto your desktop and create a short cut there
the double click on it and it will run TOP just fine with no problems
cuz if people using vista install it onto there recovery drive
you will use up the recovery drive
and we personally do not recomend installing programs in the recovery drive

4. After finishing the steps above, you should double click the icon to run the game; and a dialogue boxsaying "Are you sure that you want to run the program" will pop up,choose "Yes" to run the game.

VCO vista solution

im running windows vista ultimate 64-bit and VCO didn't install for me the first time either, kinda frustrating so follow these steps

Step 1) Right click your Voyage century install file, then go to properties, then go to compatibility ensure your running it under "windows XP( service pack 2)" and tick "run this program as an administrator"

Step 2) Ull notice that after uv double clicked the install file youll have the mouse with a spinning blue circle this is your system loading the .exe file this can take quite a while, just give it time( took mine 20 minutes go do something else in this time) youll be asked for administrator priveleges accept then the setup.exe file should run and follow the on-screen prompts hope it works for u all worked for me :

Installing VCO Patches on Vista with UAC Enabled
I run my computer as a regular account, non-admin on my Vista computer.

I run VCO under the credentials of my standard account -- I do not enter my admin username and password when starting the game.  I was able to get this to work by changing the file security of all files under c:program filesvoyage century online to allow "Users", "Full Control".

I downloaded the .42 patch today, installed it, but every time I started VCO as my standard user account, it started as .40, and tried downloading the patch again.  Starting VCO under my admin credentials, it worked just fine.

Fix is, to make Vista pull a new copy of all the program files and put them in your user folder.

Open Windows Explorer and browse to c:usersyourusernameappdatalocalvirtualstoreProgram Files

Rename the Voyage Century Online folder (I just added a "2" to the end of the name")

Done!  Start VCO under your regular account and have fun!

Do not download the game in C drive (i did download to c drive and dont get problems so whatever lol).

Close all clients before trying to update, if it still causes trouble run as admin and if it still wont work restart comp, try again and if even that fails download the manual update.

Disconnecting is common and its not the ammount of memory on the hard drive but the ammount of ram he has. If he has less ram he's more likely to have problems =/ Also keep in mind that  disconecting at portals, teleporting or during events is common to all players not just vista users.

I use vista and apart from a few odd glitches now and again i can run it alright

Fix for the black Screen ~

okep so most people are having problems with a black screen when they run in AO in windowed mode, this is caused usually when you reformat your PC.. the problem is that your Graphics Driver gets uninstalled, okep lets start with finding out what your graphics driver is... Screen shots are at the bottom

go to Start > Control panel > Performance and Maintenance > System

For vista Right click My Computer > Properties

then click the Hardware tab > Device Manager

now click the + sign on Display Adapters and there is your graphic driver

now go google your graphic driver....

now go download your driver install it Restart your pc and tada! all should work now, oh and make sure to scan the installer before you run it!

any questions or problems ask ill answer them to my full knowledge :3
