How to roll carns on your holys

ok first off the placement of carns the order i use thats most effective is::

2,1,3,4 example if i were working with 4 carns say exact levels 160,195,180 and 123, by the order that i use i would place them as so

2 1 3 4
160 195 123 180

so from higest to lowest in the carns i'm workin with i put the 2nd highest in the 1st box
then i put the highest carn the 2nd box 3rd box i put lowest of the carns i'm workin with it doesn't have to be the lowest carn you have just below the 4th box or 3rd highest carn is fine i just ranged for the example the most ideal combinations for this formula tend to come if these specific carns are placed in these spots

195 200 185 190 since those are the highest of the carns you can get and still use 4 seperate numbers they will mostly get the best effects using the lowest 4 carns of perfect carns will obviously give you the lowest effects.


Ok with that part out of the way we move into fixing blanks to get extra res. Most of us know if you just roll carns over a blank holy you tend to get less resists on it than one that has a base carn forged. However what most includeing myself unitl recently don't know is that blank armors have a unique feature that can add a res that you wish on it and still be able to roll carns and keep that as a base. To do this you'll need to take a blank holy armor cleaned with stone of rainbow or +1 from event as long as it has no orange effects on it is considered clean. with this blank equipment you can add either an essence or a gem; (effects listed below) and still roll carns overtop of it and keep the effects of both the ess or gem and carns.

130-140 Range Tend to give mage max/neg and res
150-160 Range Tend to give hum max/neg and res


Essence effect on blank holy
Note:: gems cannot be added ontop of essences ever;; essences cannot be placed on wepons or boots|

the essence will replace the base melee on a chest or helm be it +18 from 1 holy +19 from 2 holy or +20 from 3 holy with up to a max of +43 on one of the 4 essence abilities(sta,int,str,agi) however the holy piece will no longer have the physical defense it had as blank piece and still roll carns over the essence to get extra resists and keep the base of the essence these are what i call super holys.


Gem/Diamond effect
Note :: only 1 gem can be added and still add carns;; gems may be added on any clean holy chest or helm: diamonds may be added on any clean wepon or boot|

the gem placed ontop of a clean holy will give it a base that it will keep so if chosen correctly you could have multiples of certain reses on 1 piece this base res will remain the base no matter how many rolls of the carns you do.

there ya go a short guide to what i know about makeing holys have fun make some awsome gears and good luck to all its still a lil random but atleast this will hopefully make it a bit easier for ya. Also if i've missed anything or you know anything I don't feel free to post it in a reply

/yct18  good explanation, but from my failure experience.. ( /yct05  over hundres of p.carns)

almost all your imagination is wrong,

wrong about essence too... if u put essence on holy, u still can add gem
essence can be added on all holy gear except mauve.

STA essence on boot give +6800 HP /yct31

For carnelian, u need all high lvl to get best res. i hate high lvl p.carn, only give Max Death SKill /yct05
for rolling with p.carn, only need 1 high lvl and other low is ok. give same result

I don't know more about forging/enchanting but as long as there are carns LOL I put them randomly for rerolling. I did not know there's actually specific spot for each carn.

Can someone come up with a better Guide. the replies i see making it not a guide to relly on/yct14 . I wish i can but it will take me years to do so and im not good at adding carns to Holies.But I do same as Maxfli do using carns/f75

nah there are tricks but the problem is that noone share lol :S for example i know how to get good neglect chao or berserker rate dmg on holy but i don't know about rest :X

130-150 carns give neglects of 4-6 usually 160-180 usually give 7-8 and 185-200 usually give 9/10 althought sometimes you may get a 7 or 8 in my experience

best to not use more then 2 of the same carn

it's true, but specific carns gives a very small chance higher than the rest but that info wont be released because it will be flamed like xee did :)

Note: using carn 114-119 carn can reduce the chance of borg stats(aka potential stats) and may harm your roll for 1st resist(white) - and other 2 placements of borg stats by placing in 1st carn slot for shoe or mauve(NOT WEAPON). (never tried below 114, but figure they work the same)

/yct27 well each carn has certain chance or no chance of appearing...

I said I wouldnt post my "experiments", although here it is not going to guarantee you will get 30+ neg or 4x human res rolls, those are hard to obtain...

Erm, beforehand since I know you'll ask how I got this but again another formula developed without IGG's help and quite simple.

Note:further you go down the list (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10) the rates are lower, this is why fraility and death have higher chance of appearing.

*You divide each level carnelian by the following numbers:
1 = fraility
2 = poison
3 = choas
4 = hypno
5 = stun
6 = fire
7 = ice
8 = dark
9 = flash.
10 = death

1 = Pierce rate(doesnt exist)
2 = Pierce value (doesnt exist)
3 = Berserk rate
4 = Berserk damage
5 = Critical rate
6 = Critical damage
7 = Combo Counter
8 = Combo Count
9 = Counter rate
10 = Counter value

*level 134 carn for fire has a good chance of appearing, poison and fraility may ruin the rate
*132 and 180 have even rates of human resists to appear(reminder, the higher you go up the rates go down; mages have higher chance of appearing than humans with level 160+ carns.)

Crisis, you said divide the carn value by these numbers? but some how in the edit those numbers got lost.

And the values, 1 = fire, etc. are they quotient or remainder?

I always believed that there can only a certain degree of randomness associated but 90% of the output follow a certain linear logic, and that should explain even using same set of carns in the same slot may give different sets of stats and attributes is because the random factor chooses the value set for that roll. But if the sample size is very large, you will see pattern like crisis did.

Also, look to 8bank8 experiments too.

If we do some of our own experiments, please share them too here.

I just did simple dividing and rounding.

129/6 = 21.5, so you round up to ice but ice cannot be divided by it either.

129/7 = 18.428(round down) = 18

Since it was rounded down I just took the rate away but through experiments i've experienced more mage res 160+ and human 120-150.


Fraility/poison/Fire/Ice is gender based. As in theory I would think they would be dominate but maybe im taking my logic too far...

So far i've been accurately correct getting usable holies in about 5-7 characters worth of wed event; as in usable I mean not some random resist, the one getting max chaos + human resists or mage max + human resists will still remain a challenge and 30+ neg weapons as well...

I will just like to poke one little hole in part of your logic.  

What if, even though dought anyone would do it, but what if they roll with 1-3 carns only.  By the logic of your 1 post, some resistances shouldn't have any change occuring, but they do.

Aradan, MW2 is a computer game and all computer games run through a logic, i talked about the randomness, but even there is a logic to devise randomness. Crisis is close, though since we donot have the source code, so what best we can do is try to get close the logic. Thats what we are trying, hope you may help too.

what this is a computer game, why was i not told of this/yct51  I always thought it was just something on my TV or something.

I have my own theories on how it may work, but they are all just theories, and i rather play the game with randomness then take advantage of the coding, which i do more then enough of already.
